The town we live in holds a summer’s end Stadtfest every year to usher in the fall and it’s going on this weekend.  I went with a friend last night and enjoyed a drag show, a glass of early wine, some thumping rock, a fire dancer and some fantastic salsa music.  It’s a fun way to say goodbye to summer and I’ll drag the kids out tomorrow to take advantage of the rides, games and grilled treats before sending them off to school in two weeks.

In the spirit of the coming season, I have a freebie - Autumn Leaves.  These are leaves I collected with my younger daughter last fall on walks through our neighborhood.  Please don’t ask me to identify any of them because I’m not able to.  I originally came from the desert of Arizona where our native trees are Palo Verde, and the Saguaro cactus! (And where summer never ends!)
