Kids on Crack (AKA Dora, Austin, Tyrone, Uniqua…)
So, how was your weekend? Mine was spent working, hanging out with my kids and playing with the new hamster babies. Their eyes opened up this weekend and they’ve started raiding the food bowl and stuffing their crazy little hamster-cheeks. The kids are so excited they can hardly sit still and their heavy breathing and glassy eyes are rather disturbing!
A friend loaned us some English videos and the kids are now in “Backyardigans” heaven and planning a “Dora” coma for after lunch. (If you weren’t aware, we’re Americans living in Germany, so English-language children’s videos are like crack to our kids.) That’ll give me some time to get a little work done before their sister gets home and they all drag me out to watch High School Musical 2.
I was finishing up part of a project this morning and wandered into a few forums where I found a few interesting tidbits. The best, though, was the announcement by Designer Digitals that they have a new tutorial available for digi-scrapping newbies. This is something my friends ask me to help them with all the time and it’s such a difficult request to fulfill because it’s hard not to assume some level of comfort with photo-editing programs, let alone a computer.
Now, I can just send them to Designer Digitals for their introduction. You’ll find definitions and examples, screenshots and step-by-step instructions. Best of all - it’s free! Check it out - but beware! Once you enter the Designer Digitals site, it’s hard to get away without making a purchase. These designers know how to make art!
