Just a few hours more and the final challenge for Stand Up And Scrap will be revealed.  I harbor no illusions that I will win anything, but I still hope that I’ll make the Top Ten just once.  This contest has been so stressful for me.  I’ve actually had dreams about possibilities for layouts to fit the challenge guidelines and my submissions each week have been as close to the deadline as I’m comfortable getting.

If you’re part of this contest or have been following the hype about it, you know that it’s stirred controversy (what contest doesn’t?) over the judging, the entries, the challenge interpretations, etc.  Basically, everyone has an opinion and none are the same.

Here’s mine.  It’s a contest.  I enter contests to win something, not learn something.  My layouts for this contest are targeted to a different audience than usual because, frankly, my family’s standards are pretty low - “Am I in the picture? Yep? Okay!”  My kids just want to see themselves on a page - everything else is for my own pleasure.  When I want to learn something new or stretch myself creatively, I join challenges like the Digi-Dares.  My motivations for challenges and contests are completely different because I know going into a challenge what the goals are and I decide to participate, or not, based on that.  My motivation for entering a contest is the prizes.

I’d love to see everyone who’s said they entered this contest for the challenge and to stretch themselves creatively withdraw from the running for the prizes.  That would leave only a handful of us to compete, I’m sure. ;)

Tschüss!
