How to Hack?
With Google’s release of their annual roundup of top search inquiries, I couldn’t help but wonder how my own top searches compared.
Google reports top celebrity searches for Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, all coinciding with negative occurences in the young starlets’ lives. My own statistics show traffic from celebrity searches including Shabby Princess, Christina Renee and Nick Brandt - none of whom have any negative publicity haunting them. I guess I’m not all that controversial, eh?
Most popular movie searches were topped by Transformers, while Heroes headed up the television category - both of which are favorites of mine. My site, sadly, received no traffic from television or movie searches. Too bad… I guess no one’s interested in classic black and white movies anymore. Really. Not even one search for Cary Grant. What is the world coming to?
I got a chuckle, though - as I’m sure the Google staff did, as well, since they made a point of highlighting it - when comparing searches for musical acts currently on tour. Hannah Montana pummelled the Rolling Stones! I’m sure my own little Hannah Montana fans are unsurprised but Mick Jagger must be rolling over in his - oops! not dead yet.
Sadly, the number four search in the “How To” category isn’t “How to Digi-Scrap” but “How to Hack.” When honesty and integrity are at a premium and what I do here is based in trust, it’s sad to know that “How to Hack” is among the top ten searches on people’s minds.
You’re curious, I know, to find out what the most popular overall search is. You might guess Wii, but it’s only in the past couple of months that frantic searches for the now-elusive game system have spiked. Nope, it’s iPhone. That fancy piece of gadgetry that has my teenaged daughter drooling and promising all sorts of exceptional behavior in return for a Christmas gift of Apple goodness. She’s not getting it, mind you, but it’s fun to watch her beg.
So what’s the top search keyword or phrase driving visitors to my blog? Right now, it’s Christmas and Sugar Cookies, but sound a cow makes has a strong showing, as well. Oh well, you never know what people might be interested in, do you?
TschĂĽss!
