TED Has Changed My Life!

January 10th, 2008

I love brilliance.  I get excited when I see and hear about ideas that are “outside the box” and intensely creative.  So, imagine the heart-pounding excitement when I stumbled on TED.

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design.  It’s an annual conference that brings together the brightest thinkers from these three industries to work together.  Each speaker at TED gets 18 minutes to give, arguably, the most important talk of their lives.  At stake is a $100,000 prize and the granting of “One Wish to Change the World.”

They’ve recorded each presentation and made them available to view and distribute freely from their site and after watching only a few, I’m hooked.  I’ll be signing up for updates for this.

My favorites, thus far, are these:

PhotoSynth and SeaDragon - so cool!

Larry Lessig on Copyright Laws (doesn’t really pertain to Digi-scrapping, so don’t be disappointed that it’s not really addressed.  It’s really more about entertainment media.)

Take some time to watch a few of these.  Like I said, the ideas are inspirational and exciting and make me glad to be alive in this time.

TschĂĽss!
