What Would You Do?

June 6th, 2008

I’ve got thirteen pages completed for my daughter’s album and I’m closing in on my self-imposed deadline for completion.  I’ve still got many more pages to complete (one trip that she has yet to take) but I’ve got a good flow going and expect to finish before the end of June.

Now, all I have left to do is decide where to have it printed.

The options are many - Shutterfly, Viovio, Mypictales, etc. - but I’m still not sure which to choose.  I’ve considered printing individually and putting them into page protectors in a regular album but it’s just so bulky and she’d have to go and buy the album herself when she’s in the States because I can’t find an appropriate album here in the size(s) I want.

So, I’m pretty sure I want to go with the bound photobook - what are your suggestions?  I’m shipping to the U.S., so overseas shipping isn’t going to be an issue.

And here’s another layout, completed a couple of nights ago.  It’s not very exciting, but it does capture the spirit of my many trips to Berlin with my teen.  She was really only in it for the movies, Starbuck’s and Dunkin Donuts! ;)  My own layouts of the city are a little more cultural, though Starbuck’s still features!

I used MyPicTales and I really like their books, price and of course customer service. They offer 100% satisfaction guarantee on all their products. So you wont go wrong with them. Their software is really nice and easy….and I liked the unlimited number of pages, which was a good thing because I do not like to cut my books into two.

Did you finish ordering? Whom did you go with?

Not sure - as I have yet to get my layouts printed any other way except individually. I look forward to seeing which you decide on.

Congrats on getting the pages done! I’d go with http://www.heritagemakers.com/174347

I won’t do my books any other way now. The quality is absolutely amazing, and their replacement guarantee is unmatched in the industry!

I’ve heard great things about both Shutterfly and mypictales. I’ve never used them, though, so I can’t give first-hand advice. Love your LO though!

Thats a beautiful page!! I love how you did the title work. I personally suggest Scrapbooks To Share While they dont bind (Atleast I dont think they do) they print fabulous layouts. I have all my layouts printed with them because Lise is a doll and will work with you making sure you are happy with your purchase. And for $2.00 a page print, you can’t beat that with a stick!

Good luck finding where you want to print! She’s going to love this album when its completed!

I know what you mean about the choices of hardbound books and then contemplating a traditional album. While I love the idea of hardbound books … I love the flexibility of being able to add a layout or switch around layouts in a traditional album.

    Your layout is great!
