Gone

We’re getting rid of the hamsters.  Actually, we’re getting rid of several things and the surface where the hamsters rested is one of those, so the hamsters have to go, too.  It’s really no big loss for the kids.  As kids do, they promised to take care of them and play with them and keep them healthy and happy.  Let’s just say the Nintendo DS virtual pets get more love and attention than the hamsters.

Zoe is the first to find a new home and she was picked up yesterday afternoon by a little girl who has some experience with hamsters and is prepared to pick up where my own kids left off.  I’m sure Zoe will be a much happier hamster.

In other news, it looks like we’ll probably be returning to the U.S.  I’m torn about this because I’ve made some great friends here and I love living in Dresden but we have to have an income to support any kind of lifestyle and it’s not looking good for that here.  I’m also sad because many of the people I’ve met here have or will return to Austin, Texas or Portland, Oregon and it doesn’t look as though I’ll end up in either location.  Whatever we decide, I’ll miss so much about this experience.

Also, in my own efforts to help my family, I’m building a little shop here to sell my designs.  It’s in the infant stage at this point and there’s very little product added because I just needed to thoroughly test it before going “live” but I should be making the official announcement some time next week.  (In other words, look but don’t buy yet.)

To that end, I’d like to ask if any of my readers would be interested in being on my Creative Team.  I won’t ask for much - we can work all that out after I have a team - and I’d like to keep it small.  If you think you’d like to work with me, please submit a layout using my products (templates included), a short statement of your expectations as a CT member and a short bio to gina.maria@scrapbookingresourcecenter.com by Midnight, Friday, 18 July.  I’ll be waiting!

Tschüss!

Kudos to you on the new store. I’d purchase one of everything you create - I love your templates!
I’m not able to post my layouts on line so I’m of no help to you there.
I just about fell off my chair when I saw your reference to Portland, OR. That’s where I grew up + we live just 20 miles south of there now!
I hope your move goes well + that you’re settled + happy very soon! :)

Good luck with the shop! It will be great since you always have such great stuff.

As for the move I know it’s hard but doing what’s best for your family is most important. Living as an expat in Singapore I have seen more than a few of my dear friends return home or move to another assignment. It’s tough but in this digital world of ours they are just an email away.

Try to think positive and just live in the moment(love that line)

OH good luck with your shop! I can’t wait to peek! I am sure you will have no problems finding the right girls for you!

And with the move back to the states - it will be right what ever you and your family decide. Chin up and look to the future!

I hope your plans work out well for your family! I’m glad the hamsters are going to a new home. I’ve been baby sitting sea monkeys for my daughter while she is away. I wonder if she remembers she has them?

Best of luck with your business and getting a supportive c.t.!

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

I wish you well with your store - I think you will do very well!

I am not sure that I could stand hamsters - I am fortunate that the pet of choice was a dog, which I kind of wanted anyway!
