There is a good reason they call these ceremonies “commencement exercises.” Graduation is not the end; it’s the beginning. The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the full light of day. The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny…it is the light that guides your way. Success To laugh often and much; OH! So…. be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O’Shea, you’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So… get on your way! The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think - rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men. The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.
Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.

Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. | This is the day your future begins. The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could. To where it bent in the undergrowth, Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear, Though as for that, the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Dreams Hold fast to dreams Graduation (lyrics) Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now? When buying a used car, punch the buttons on the radio. If all the stations are rock and roll, there’s a good chance the transmission is shot. The school is the last expenditure upon which America should be willing to economize. It’ll be a great day when education gets all the money it wants and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy bombers. |
